RANG SERVICES PRIVACY POLICY
When This Services Privacy Policy Applies
At Rang (“we,” “us,” or “our”), we are serious about protecting the privacy of our users, including students, parents, and school personnel (“you,” “your,” “user”). This Services Privacy Policy explains how information about users who log in to use our Services is collected, protected, used, and shared by us. Rang complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”).
Rang Rewards LLC (“Rang”) is a web application based rewards platform dedicated to improving educational outcomes. Rang’s services include sourcing and managing branded incentives that teachers can use as classroom rewards to further reinforce positive educational behaviors. This Services Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected in relation to access and use of our services through login on our website (www.rang.com) and our mobile and desktop web applications, and related products and services (collectively, the “Services”). This Services Privacy Policy applies to all products and services offered by Rang for which users are required to log in.
This Services Privacy Policy does not apply to use of our website outside the Services, i.e. without login. (Use of the Rang website outside of the Services without login is covered by the Rang Website Privacy Policy below). This Services Privacy Policy also does not apply to third party websites or services you might access through links or other features in the Services, including links embedded in non-targeted banners or other advertisements. Clicking those links may direct you to third party websites not operated by us. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
Rang will need to collect Personal Information in order to provide the Services to users of any age. However, Rang will not share any personally identifiable information with any third party websites or Services other than Rang subprocessors and as described in the section below on How We Share Your Information. Rang complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”).
If a user chooses to click on a link embedded in non-targeted banners or other advertisement that takes the user outside the Rang app or website and directs them to a third party app or website, then any information provided to that third party app or website would be outside of the control of Rang and the scope of Rang’s Services Privacy Policy, and user’s provision of information to that third party would be subject to the third party app or website privacy policy and terms. We encourage all users to review any applicable third party privacy policy before sharing any personally identifiable information.

Rang’s Services Privacy Policy may change over time. If we make changes, we will revise the date located at the top of this Privacy Policies page.
Information We Collect Through Use of Our Services
We receive and store any information you provide to us through the use of our Services, and we create information regarding your use. We receive, store, and create information from users pursuant to our agreements with schools and pursuant to the school’s consent. This information may include Personal Information that can be used to identify, locate, or contact you or is linked to such information. “Personal Information” may include, but is not limited to:
- Your name, username, email address, and/or any other address you provide in order to receive communications from us;
- Your grade level and school attendance information;
- Information regarding how you interact with our Services, such as the reward items you view and/or select and banners and/or other advertisements you click on;
- Device information, such as your IP address; and
- Information regarding your transactions while using our Services, including how you interact with our Services and the third party websites you access from our Services.
How We Collect Personal Information Through Use of Our Services
When you register for our Services, or log in to our Services, we ask you for Personal Information.
We use cookies and related technologies to collect information about your interaction with our Services and any third party websites you access from our Services.
How We Use Your Information Collected Through Use of Our Services
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our Services; to respond to your questions, comments, and requests; to provide customer service; to send you product updates and/or information, including new rewards that are available or other information about our Services that may be of interest to you; and for any other purpose for which it was collected. Rang’s use of student Personal Information is compliant with FERPA. The school retains ownership of student Personal Information.
How We Share Your Information Collected Through Use of Our Services
Rang does not sell or rent your Personal Information to any third party for any purpose whatsoever, including marketing, advertising, or profiling.
We may share with your school information about your performance and your use of Rang for the purpose of informing teachers and administrators as to how best improve educational outcomes. We may share information about you, including your Personal Information, with third parties when necessary to comply with law, such as complying with subpoenas, court orders and other legal process, law enforcement requests or government inquiries, and to protect the safety and security of the Services and its users, and to preserve Rang’s legal rights.
We may share your Personal Information in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of a website, a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy. Any third party who acquires such information will be subject to our privacy terms listed in this document.
We may share Personal Information about you with third party data processors (“Sub-Processors”) in order to operate and improve our Services. To the extent we share your Personal Information with Sub-Processors, please note that they are contractually: (1) bound from using your Personal Information for any purpose other than providing the Services for which we have contracted them; (2) prohibited from disclosing your Personal Information to subsequent third parties other than as needed for the performance of the Services; and (3) required to implement and maintain sufficient security procedures and practices. How We Share Aggregated and De-identified Information Collected Through Use of Our Services
We may use and share aggregated or de-identified, non-personally identifiable information (information which contains no Personal Information that can be used to identify you) as we determine appropriate, including, but not limited to, for purposes of research and improving our product. Any aggregated or De-identified information will be in compliance with FERPA and its regulations.
How We Protect Your Personal Information Collected Through Use of Our Services
The security of your information is important to Rang. Rang uses commercially reasonable security standards and practices to protect your Personal Information. In the event we become aware of unauthorized access to your Personal Information in a manner that exposes, or risks exposure of, your Personal Information in a manner inconsistent with this Services Privacy Policy, we will notify you or your school by email promptly after such access has been confirmed.
When We Delete Your Personal Information Collected Through Use of Our Services
Rang will delete Personal Information of students on a standard destruction schedule when the Personal Information is no longer needed for providing the Services to you. Rang will delete Personal Information of other users on Rang’s standard destruction schedule. Rang also will delete Personal Information of users upon request of a school within 60 days of the school’s request. Rang may depart from its standard destruction schedule and otherwise retain Personal Information when necessary or appropriate in response to court orders or other legal action or when necessary to enforce its terms of service or protect the safety and security of the Services or preserve Rang’s legal rights. Rang may retain aggregated and/or de-identified, non-personally identifiable information about users after deletion of all personally identifiable information.

This Website Privacy Policy applies to use of the web pages at www.rang.com without login. This Website Privacy Policy does not apply to use of our Services, which requires user login (Use of Rang Services with login is covered by the Rang Services Privacy Policy above). This Website Privacy Policy does not apply to any offline data collection practices, to the data collection practices of any Rang subprocessors or other third parties. This Privacy Policy also does not apply to any third-party websites, services, applications, or online resources to which this website may link, frame, or otherwise reference. Rang takes no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to carefully review the privacy policies of any third party website you access.

Information We Collect on Our Website (Outside of the Services)
As a general principle, any personal information you provide to Rang while visiting our website is entirely voluntary. In order to access certain portions of the website without login, you may be asked to create a user profile that contains certain personal information. User profiles may provide the option to display personal information about you to other users. You may choose not to provide such information. However, in many cases, if you elect not to provide information to Rang, it will not be able to process certain requests, such as signing up for a newsletter, registering for an event or accessing certain other networks linked to our website.
Rang may use cookies to collect technical information and aggregate non-personal information regarding preferences, website traffic, and other similar types of information to assist Rang in improving our website and the products and services that it offers to its customers. Rang does not honor “Do not track” requests and Rang does not track its users. However, you may elect not to accept cookies by changing the designated settings on your web browser. However, if you elect not to accept cookies, you may not be able to use certain functions and features of our website.

Except as provided in this Website Privacy Policy, Rang will not disclose to third parties without your prior consent any personal information you provide in visiting our website. Rang may disclose your personal information collected from your visit to our website to third parties who assist Rang in providing the services for which the information was provided. Your Communication Preferences
You can manage your communication preferences by following the instructions in each promotion email from us to unsubscribe or by sending us a message to hello@rang.com. These choices do not apply to service notifications or other required communications that are considered part of Rang’s services to its customers, which you may receive periodically unless you stop using or cancel our services.

Rang protects the confidentiality of the personal information we collect. To secure the information collected online, maintain data accuracy, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure only appropriate use of information that is collected, Rang implements commercially reasonable security practices.
Children's Privacy
Rang does not intend for its website to be used (outside of the use of Services as described above) by anyone under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without appropriate parental/guardian consent (or with appropriate parent/guardian or school consent in conjunction with the provision of our Services described above).
